Does your team have what it takes to face The MIGHTY River Weaver in Northwich Rotary Club’s Dragon Boat Challenge?
How it works
Entry to the MIGHTY River Weaver Dragon Boat Challenge is £440 per team. This covers the cost of hiring the boats and running the event.
We then ask each team to raise at least £50 in sponsorship via a sponsorship page that we will set up for you, or via the official Sponsorship Form.
After the event, we will return 50%* of the money you have raised through sponsorship for you to donate to your nominated charity or good cause.
The balance will be distributed by Northwich Rotary Club to it’s nominated River Festival charity – to be confirmed – plus other Rotary good causes.
Of course, you can donate your 50% for the Club to distribute as well.
Any Gift Aid will be retained by the Club for distribution as above.

On the day, each team will receive full training and a safety brief before the racing starts.
Depending on the number of teams entered, racing will commence at around 10am and will continue until around 4pm. Teams will need to be present througout the event as each team will race three times spread across the day; with the teams that recorded the fastest time in a single race being entered into a final race.
The course is approximately 200 metres (from Town Bridge to The Odeon), so each paddler will need to be prepared for a period of 60 – 90 seconds of hard aerobic excercise for each race.
For companies and other organisations with more than one team entered, we will endeavour to organise a Head-to-Head race in round three, and seed the teams in such a way that they do not meet in rounds one and two.
