The Northwich River Festival 2018 is an event organised by Northwich Rotary Club, and has the following aims:
- To celebrate the town’s two rivers – The Weaver and The Dane
- To raise the profile of Northwich and showcase what the town has to offer
- To raise funds for the event’s nominated charities and other charities supported by Northwich Rotary Club and Rotary International.
After an inaugural event in 2017, the volunteers that make up the committee are planning a bigger, more exciting and engaging event for 2018 – with lots of opportunities for the community and businesses to be involved.
Chair of the committee, Rotarian John Walton, says, “We welcome the feedback received after our 2017 event and are really pulling out all the stops to make The Northwich River Festival 2018 a truly memorable one!”
“The stand-out success of our first event was undoubtedly the MIGHTY River Weaver Dragon Boat Challenge, which will be returning for 2018. We are expecting even more entries, so the competition will be even greater.”
New for 2018 will be Raft Racing, with more information to be released in March.
The hugely enjoyable Street Theatre troupe from “Typhoon and The Pedal Players” have been invited back with their captivating story of the History of Salt, and there will be much more entertainment throughout the weekend.
